Position Announcement: Staff Soccer Coach

 

OVERVIEW
All Nations Sports Academy (ANSA) is a recently-founded, Christian-based sports initiative focused on reaching out to the community through soccer. ANSA’s mission is to transform and empower youth and their families of all nations through soccer.

REPORTING
The Staff Coach will report to the Director of Soccer Operations and/or the Developmental Soccer Coordinator. He/she will also work closely with the Team Manager(s).

THE POSITION
The Staff Coach will be responsible for planning, setting up, and conducting training sessions for youth players. He/she will coordinate with the appropriate supervisor to schedule soccer practices and games, run game day operations effectively, communicate the schedule and expectations to players and parents, and support the mission of ANSA on and off the field.

POSITION STATUS: Part-time, hours vary depending on number of teams training; primarily evenings and weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and conduct training sessions and games

  • Work closely with the Registrar and the Team Manager(s) to register, manage, and track players and to divide players into teams/age groups

  • Assist in scheduling games and tournaments

  • Distribute soccer gear to players

  • Communicate schedule, expectations, and other necessary information to players and their parents/guardians

  • Recruit new players and their families to participate

  • Work with supervisor to schedule referees

  • Communicate team transportation needs (if needed)

  • Ensure that player to staff/volunteer ratios are adequate

  • Communicate team successes, needs, and challenges to his/her supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school or higher education level

  • Coaching license(s) – (level acquired impacts which program and team eligible for)

  • Soccer coaching and playing experience

  • Bilingual skills and cross-cultural awareness are a plus

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, especially among diverse cultures and various ages; be flexible; and provide positive, motivating leadership focused on individual improvement and team building. In addition, the following are essential:

  • Background in soccer session planning, training, and league requirements;

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral; technologically proficient enough to use Microsoft Office, Internet, and e-mail programs;

  • Good time management skills; and

  • Faith in Jesus Christ that is evident in word, action, and work ethic

SALARY
Hourly rate commensurate with experience

Position Announcement: Site Coordinator

REPORTING
The Site Coordinator will report to the Director of Soccer Operations and Developmental Soccer Coordinator.

THE POSITION
The Site Coordinator will be responsible for organizing soccer operations and outreach at a specific location. He/she will coordinate with the appropriate ANSA personnel to schedule soccer practices and games, to effectively run game day operations, to communicate the schedule and expectations to players, and to execute the overall mission, vision, and goals of ANSA within a local community.

POSITION STATUS: Part-time approximately 10 hours per week; primarily evenings and Saturdays; hourly rate based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with Director of Soccer Operations, Developmental Soccer Coordinator, and other Site Coordinators in scheduling training, games, special events, and adequate volunteer to player ratios

  • Supervise, facilitate, and execute training sessions

  • Register, manage, and track players; divide players into teams/age groups

  • Recruit new players and their families to the site

  • Distribute soccer gear to players and coaches

  • Organize site transportation (if needed)

  • Communicate with players and their families

  • Communicate site successes, needs, and challenges to Developmental Soccer Coordinator

  • Monitor player numbers to ensure the ANSA site is able to fulfill goals

  • Submit timely reports about ANSA’s player and family participation statistics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school or higher education level; referee and coaching licenses a plus

  • Soccer coaching and/or playing experience

  • Bilingual skills and cross-cultural awareness a plus

Position Announcement: Volunteer Coordinator

 

OVERVIEW
All Nations Sports Academy (ANSA) is a recently-founded, Christian-based sports initiative focused on reaching out to the community through soccer. ANSA’s mission is to transform and empower youth and their families of all nations through soccer.

REPORTING
The Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Director of Community Outreach and will work closely with the Director of Soccer Operations and the Developmental Soccer Coordinator.

THE POSITION
The Volunteer Coordinator will oversee volunteers for each site location. He/she will be responsible for recruiting, retention, tracking, and recognition of volunteers; measuring volunteer program outcomes; on-site observation of volunteers; risk management in relation to volunteers; volunteer program development and training; volunteer background checks; and actively supporting and promoting ANSA’s mission among volunteers within various communities.

POSITION STATUS: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, including some evenings and some Saturdays

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate with Site Coordinators in providing the necessary volunteer support for training, games, and events

  • Provide inspired and motivating leadership among volunteers while modeling what it means to be an effective team player

  • Review and/or streamline processes for volunteer enrollment, training, tracking, and recognition

  • Provide problem-solving input to assist ANSA in mitigating risks and managing volunteer-related issues as they arise

  • Monitor volunteer numbers to ensure ANSA sites are able to fulfill goals

  • Confirm effective communication is happening at the site-level for all volunteers

  • Submit quarterly and year-end reports about ANSA’s volunteer statistics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in managing volunteers within an organizational context

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and good motivational skills; be highly organized, patient, flexible, and encouraging; be a good judge of character; and have the ability to travel to sites. In addition, the following are important:

  • Background in or familiarity with the not-for-profit sector and managing volunteers within this sector;

  • Ability to design and implement processes while being flexible and responsive to the organization’s needs and resources;

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; good presentation skills and technologically proficient (e.g., Microsoft Office, Internet, and e-mail programs);

  • Creative thinker who can solve problems;

  • Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines; and

  • A strong faith in Jesus Christ that is evident in word, action, and work ethic.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
